When I first heard about the carnivore diet I thought it was the most rediculous and quite possibly the most ignorant thing I had ever heard. These people are so dumb, you can't get essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals without plants. I lumped these idiots in with the flat earthers and tin-foil hat wearers. A couple months from now they'll all be deficient and dying a slow and painful death. At the time I was on a year long journey of self-healing and had tried just about every diet out there. Years of perma-bulking on a bodybuilding diet that I thought was healthy, mixed with SAD refeeds, had finally caught up with me and completely wrecked my health. I suffered from a whole host of chronic conditions and autoimmune issues. Over a year wrapped up in the current healthcare system had further deteriorated my health, robbed me of my hard earned money, and left me with a pile of pharmaceuticals with terrible side effects. I began to flirt with diet and trying to figure things out on my own. Whole food plant based, vegan, and fruititarian left me malnourished and deficient, diets that were so catabolic that the 70lbs of muscle that took me 10 years to gain, I lost in just a few short months. More expirementation landed me on a keto diet. It worked quite well for a while but the recommended servings of vegetables limited animal protein stopped me up and destroyed my digestion. My nails became brittle and weak, my legs heavy, and I could never shake many of the ailments I had been suffering from. In a moment of desperation after eating vegetables that left me bloated like the Goodyear blimp, the whole carnivore thing started to seem a little less ignorant. I jumped into it 100% that very day and have never looked back. Days after switching to all meat I began to feel better. Weeks later, many of the issues I had been suffering from began to diminish. Months later, I felt the best I had felt in longer than I could remember. At almost a year in, there were are days I felt super human, like there was nothing I couldn't do. All the ailments and deficiencies resolved. I gained and maintained weight and my body normalized to it's natural state. I regained that lost muscle with 1/3 of the exercise and intensity, and at 1/6th of the food and 1/2 the daily intake of calories. I had read stories like this on Baker's posts and bauked at the idea of an all meat diet being anything more than a shortcut to an early grave. To understand how these results were possible I've researched the carnivorous way of eating to no end. Countless hours, days, and weeks scouring the internet for research and antidotal evidence to support and justify my experience. I had watched some of Shawn Baker's content before but this time I watched it and paid the upmost attention. Essentially, Dr. Baker is the reason I knew this diet existed and if it weren't for him I'd likely be dead. Dr. Shawn Baker provides tons of research in his easy to read book so that you can come to your own conclusions based on facts and real-life testimonies. The people I thought were so ignorant and naieve are thriving, and for over 3 years strict carnivore I am proud to say that I am thriving amongst them. If you are even a little bit curious about the carnivore diet or concerned about your overall wellbeing, this may be just what the doctor ordered, best served rare of course. I'm investing because I believe in this and fully support the cause, I'm living, breathing proof that it works and I genuinely owe my life to it. over 3 years ago
