Litigation Finance
What is Litigation Finance?
Litigation finance or legal finance is the practice of providing capital to a plaintiff with the expectation that a portion of the financial settlement would be paid back to the capital provider as a potential return on investment.
Through litigation finance, a plaintiff is able to access capital before their case is resolved and use the funds to pay for legal expenses required to pursue their claims or business expenses that have arisen as a result of the conduct underlying the lawsuit.
