Koning developed a Vera Breast CT system that addresses key limitations in breast cancer screening. The technology provides three-dimensional imaging without traditional mammography compression, capable of detecting tumors as small as 2mm. This innovation earned the company the 2016 Frost & Sullivan New Innovation Award in Breast Imaging.

Koning holds over 120 global patents and has achieved regulatory approvals across the United States, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Qatar, China, and the European Union.

The company has raised more than $50M from venture funding and high net-worth individuals. $20M of that was raised from NIH/government grants. 

In March 2024 Koning celebrated a big milestone – 150,000 scans worldwide. The device delivers isotropic, 360-degree 3D images in seven seconds per breast, with low radiation doses comparable to diagnostic mammograms—all without breast compression.

Currently deployed at more than 20 locations globally, the company is expanding installations in major US cities, with recent launches in Dallas, Texas. Koning's technology represents a significant advancement in early cancer detection, offering precise imaging that traditional methods cannot match.
