Skyryse has developed SkyOS, a universal digital operating system that transforms aircraft control. Instead of the traditional complex array of mechanical controls, pilots can now use a single four-axis control stick and intuitive touchscreens, reducing cockpit complexity from dozens of controls to just two screens.
In February 2025, the company demonstrated this approach's potential by completing the world's first fully automated helicopter landing with a simple touchscreen swipe. The system eliminates potential mechanical failure points, directly addressing the leading cause of aviation accidents: pilot error.
The Skyryse One First Edition sold out in six months, with a $1.8 million base price. Strategic partnerships with United Rotorcraft and the US Army validate the approach, with plans to retrofit SkyOS for use with Airbus planes and Black Hawk helicopters.
Skyryse has raised over $290 million, and is backed by investors like Fidelity, Venrock, Eclipse Ventures and ArrowMark Partners. The company was even named a finalist for the Collier Trophy, one of aviation's most prestigious awards.
Most recently, the Skyryse One helicopter has been cleared by the FAA to begin flight testing, which is a critical step toward full certification and commercial rollout and aligns with a new agreement with the U.S. Army to develop pilot training solutions, interoperability, and optionally-piloted capabilities for the Army’s fleet, including 2,400 Black Hawks.
