Matt Provencher

Dr. Matthew Provencher, MD is an Orthopaedic Sports Surgeon who specializes in shoulder, knee and sports injuries/surgery. He is the former Head Team Physician/Medical Director of the New England Patriots as well as Assistant Team Physician for the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox. In addition, he has served as the Team Orthopaedic Physician for Naval Special Warfare in Coronado, CA and served 26 years as a Navy Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is the CEO or Proven Performance Technology, which specializes in injury prevention, human performance and wellness program development. Provencher first created the core algorithm for PPT’s proprietary insights while working as the Navy Special Forces (SEAL Teams) Head Orthopedic/Sports Surgeon for more than a decade. He then took those insights into his role as the New England Patriots head team physician before moving on to co-found PPT and assemble a team of world-class data scientists and technologists with more than 50 years of collective professional sports league experience.

He has extensive research in sports injuries, treatment and prevention, with over 300 peer-reviewed publications and has authored 6 textbooks. He and his family live in the Vail, CO area.
