I'm happy to share that last week Citiesense officially launched our newest feature: Quick Response Local Guides Today's local neighborhood guides are broken. They either lack the level of local insight to connect you to all the great things happening around you, or they are simply not technical enough to deliver the best experience to get you from A to B.  The last time you looked for information about what was happening around you downtown, you probably did one of three things: <ol><li>You looked up information via top-down sources like Google, Yelp, which have limited stake in the local community and therefore can't possibly show you everything, </li><li>maybe you found flyers, printed maps that a local downtown organization provides, or looked things up on one of their websites with limited mapping technology, if any, or </li><li>you asked a local who was helpful and attempted to draw a map or tell you where to go. </li></ol>It's not that these approaches are wrong, and they all work to a certain extent. But we think it's time to help downtowns take a better approach. Today's local neighborhood guides are broken. They either lack the level of local insight to connect you to all the great things happening around you, or they are simply not technical enough to deliver the best experience to get you from A to B. The last time you looked for information about what was happening around you downtown, you probably did one of three things:

Lenexa, Kansas is a fast growing community. New homes, schools, civic centers, hotels, etc.

@gary-clinesmith excellent to know about Lenexa, Gary. Thank you. I just looked up some of the census info. Fast growing indeed. Do you have any thoughts on the city’s plan for Old Town Lenexa? I could see a number of ways the city and any public/private partnerships there could use Citiesense to work towards some of the objectives in this plan: lenexa.com/UserFiles/Servers/Server_4323159/File/Government/Departments/CommDev/OldTownFinalPlan.pdf Such as - organizing local events, creating an inventory of all the commercial spaces available and mix of businesses to work with, and keeping track improvements to real estate and public space.

Starling, have you given any thought to little ol' Rhode Island ? With Newport being an international vacation destination, Wickford close behind, I feel that this platform is a terrific tool for them both not th mention several thousand eateries from food trucks to five star restaurants.As well as their proximities to the two giant casinos in nearby CT.
Anyway, it was just a thought to share !

@charles-rocha-1 I couldn’t agree more, Chip. In fact, I had some early conversations with folks in Providence at the City’s planning department. This was a few years ago and Citiesense hadn’t built anything for them to work with at that point, but there was a lot of interest in the idea of a central platform for data about the downtown. They’re on my list of downtowns to reconnect with early next year. Plus, the Seaport District just up the road in Boston is already signed up.

@mahaveer-prabhakar thank you for your support. You’re absolutely right. We’ve already received a number of inquiries about launching versions of this type of local guide in other neighborhoods. This use case will play a strong role for our growth next year.
