How do I update my payment method?
If you'd like to change your payment method for an offering you've created an investment commitment or reservation in, you may be able to do so from your Republic portfolio if the offering is live and accepting investment commitments or reservations.
To change your payment method, first head to your portfolio and click "view details" or "view my investment" for the offering that you'd like to change your payment method for.
Once you're viewing your investment commitment or reservation, you'll want to click the "Options" dropdown menu in the top right of the screen.
Then, click "Update payment method". Doing so will redirect you to the invest page where you may be able to edit your investment amount, the entity you'd like to invest under, and your payment method.
Select the payment method you'd like to switch to and fill in any information you are prompted to complete.
If you'd like to confirm the update, simply click the confirm button and the update will be reflected. Some payment methods require additional action (such as wire and crypto payments), so be sure to check that you don't have any additional required action items in your portfolio to avoid cancellation.
Please note that you can only update your payment method if an offering is still live, meaning it is accepting new reservations or investment commitments.
If payment was made for a live offering, updating your payment method will automatically refund your payment for ACH and credit card payments. You can expect a refund to appear in your account 5-10 business days after updating for these payment methods.
