Problem
Big Agriculture failed to make produce safe and sustainable
There are huge problems with the current model of legacy large scale agriculture that supplies the produce that feeds us. Safety issues, contamination recalls, over-fertilization, massive water usage, genetically modified ingredients, over dependence on plastics, too many food miles —the list goes on. Way too much waste, too much uncertainty—a total lack of transparency and trust. They failed us.
Solution
Edible Garden: safe, scalable, Zero-Waste Inspired® farming
Edible Garden is the leader in locally grown organic produce and herbs. We are backed by state-of-the-art sustainable and Zero-Waste Inspired® hydroponic indoor greenhouses & farms run by proprietary farm management software. We are also beginning to leverage blockchain technology at every stage of the supply chain in order to ensure full transparency, traceability and safety in every product we offer.
Fully operated by local people, our facilities provide jobs and opportunities while supplying our customers with product that uses less to grow more while cutting down on food miles and our carbon footprint.

Customers
5 star reviews, nothing less
Our target customer is the health-conscious individual looking to help themselves and the environment, without breaking the bank. Our organic herbs & lettuces have received rave reviews since our launch, which has helped us establish strong brand loyalty and retail partnerships across the U.S.
Business model
The perfect marriage of farming, technology & distribution
Edible Garden's platform supplies its national brand of produce on a local level. Utilizing local facilities, Edible Garden leveraged its position to supply big box, regional grocery stores chains and independents alike. Our business model is to continue partnering with the biggest and the best in fresh grocery retail to grow our sales while keeping to our local roots. Simply Local, Simply Fresh! This approach helped us earn over $5.6M in sales in 2019 alone.
Market
Branded produce drives category sales growth @ 12%
The organic food market in the U.S. alone was worth $47.9B in 2018, growing at an annual rate of 5.9%. Organic produce has captured nearly 15% of that market, as more consumers seek transparency and integrity within their food.
Branded produce when looked at as a standalone, continues to outperform its contemporaries as well. Edible Garden plays in both these arenas.
Competition
Uniquely positioned for accelerated growth
Edible Garden occupies a unique position within the organic food and produce industries. We're not a grow-at-home kit, offered at places such as Lowes and The Home Depot. Instead, we remove the work and provide customers with fully grown and ready-to-eat hydroponically grown produce. Unlike our competitors in the legacy produce space, we're using a sustainable future farm model with transparent and ethical farming practices. We're providing the highest standard and quality at a time when people want ready to eat products that are safe, clean and nutritious.
Vision and strategy
Edible Garden: simply sustainable
By reaching our funding goal, we plan to increase our capabilities, technology and invest in partnerships with major distributors to drive store velocity and brand recognition. Other key areas of growth include unrolling additional pre-packaged hydroponically grown product items, following the success of our lettuce line.
Funding
Self-funded & focused
Edible Garden's management team recognized the opportunity to acquire a struggling business with the belief that a big vision and flawless execution could win out. We wanted to save jobs and build something great—even in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic! After purchasing the business from a holding company, Edible Garden Ag, Inc. was born. We quickly improved systems, safety, quality and execution. We leveraged strong partnerships. and landed new business with major retailers almost immediately. Bottom line, we upped our game. Since the acquisition in March 2020, Edible Garden has self-funded itself with cash-flow and investments by its principals. The time has now come to expand the business and expand growth. We couldn't be more excited!
