The truth is electric cars are likely to be dirty for the next 80 years. This is because electric cars are only as clean as their electricity source – and currently, 80% of electricity in USA comes from dirty sources such as coal, methane (natural gas), and nuclear (Source).
For electric cars to make a difference, electricity needs to come from clean sources. In order to replace 100% of gasoline/diesel, both electricity production and grid capacity need to increase by 63% (Source). And given the slow historic growth of clean electricity (wind and solar), it would require at least 80 years to replace dirty sources of electricity (Source).
But this is not the only problem – because even if electric cars replace 50% of gasoline cars by 2050, the massive usage of gasoline- and diesel-powered cargo trains and ships, planes, trucks, and generators will continue at full speed. A monumental breakthrough in FuelGems application for use in battery technology
In 2023, we made a monumental breakthrough in using FuelGems' advanced nanoparticle catalyst to boost the batteries' performance significantly.
We achieved excellent results when we tested our material vs the material used in a regular battery. With our material 4x less in weight than equivalent battery material, our battery delivered 17.5 times (1750%) more power and reached peak power 30% faster.
