In our previous update on May 23rd, we shared the latest news that Google Maps will highlight accessible locations with a wheelchair icon. Google is putting more attention towards accessibility within Google Maps. Google is introducing a new Accessible Places feature to Maps and search that the company says will make it easier for wheelchair users to see if a location they want to visit is accommodating to their needs.

Our team immediately sprung into action, since learning about this great news and how Google’s accessibility features validate Sunu's product roadmap for the mobile app. We applied for credits grants to Google Cloud Services and Google Maps through Y-Combinator. And we proudly announce that we’ve awarded a special credit grant from Google. This allows Sunu to:

1. Enhanced access to Google Maps API.

2. Direct engineering consulting and support for our engineering team. 

3. Additional credits to Google Cloud computing services.

This grant will accelerate our product development and enhance our current mobile app.We are immediately:

1. Furthering our mobile app integration with Google Maps API to provide enhanced location services and experience to blind and low vision users. 

2. Accelerating the development of our payment gateway or subscription model.

3. Doubling-down on the development of our accessibility features for blind and low vision users

4. Exploring further grant and collaboration opportunities with Google.
