Problem
We asked ourselves: 'What's in these spiked seltzers?'
We learned 3 things that disturbed us. First, the alcohol base for these seltzers is 'fermented cane sugar', yikes!
Second, after reading "The Dorito Effect", which exposes the murky world of 'natural flavors' in food, we realized every seltzer on the market was full of them. In fact, 'flavors' are the 4th most common ingredient in our food and drinks behind sugar, salt, and water. Each flavor can have over 100 ingredients, shocking!
Lastly, ingredients are not required to be listed on alcoholic products and if you choose to list your ingredients, you cannot list sugar content. There is zero transparency into what people are consuming and we do not think this is okay.

"I gambled and ordered a case of this without having tasted it before, and I am so glad that I did. I have been very sensitive to any gluten for years and more recently during menopause I have found that I am also rather sensitive to cane sugar. I thought it was alcohol sensitivity too, but I dont feel so fuzzy headed and dragging the day after drinking this delicious tequila beverage. Most hard seltzer products are made from some weird sugar-based alcohol (not even a nice rum taste though). I found one product that was made from gluten free grains but then they sweetened it with stevia and it tastes excessively sweet like soda. Gluten free beers now taste heavy and yeasty to me so I dont drink beer anymore. If you prefer a dry, adult flavor this grapefruit Volley is worth a try. It is light, a tad tart, and crisp. I appreciate having a canned product that I can bring on a picnic or to a party. I will definitely order this again."

We believe a beverage brand can be more than momentary enjoyment. Volley is committed to leading the push for quality, transparency and corporate responsibility. That's why we partner with Leave No Trace.
Together with LNT, we will continue to fund outdoor educational events as well as clean-ups of public spaces, such as beaches and parks.
By working with the public and those managing public lands, LNT focuses on educating people — instead of costly restoration programs or access restrictions — as the most effective and least resource-intensive solution to land protection.
