I had the exciting opportunity to pitch to hundreds of automotive executives on the same stage as the former CEO of Waymo last week. We're still waiting for the official high resolution video from the event but we managed to get it on our phone. Event had very senior leadership and was not public so we're not sure what else we can share about it but we got to learn about some super cool new innovations in autonomous, connected, and electric vehicles coming from many of the top automotive companies. I made senior level connections with the Aurora CEO (autonomous tech company led by ex-Waymo CEO), Tesla, Nio (the “Tesla of China”), and Liberty Mutual Insurance which could lead to partnerships. I am posting my 5 minute pitch on our YouTube channel which you can watch here:
We also made progress on our new app design update that enables you to personalize your car experience, including the ability to name "your" car. You won't actually get the exact same car each time, but all our cars are identical and they will be delivered with your phone's charging cable plugged in, your favorite radio station playing, and temperature and drive mode preference set up. We'll even bring accessories like a dog cover, surf board rack, or snow chains. Every time you get "your" car, it's set up just the way you left it. Whether you are in San Francisco, DC or any other market we launch, it's will be like you have "your" car, at your doorstep on demand, in every city. We are testing this now and expect to roll it out next week to members.
And after months of engineering, we finally managed to get all of our mileage and trip data properly connected from the new delivery logistics app to our dispatch backend. Now we can automatically send monthly mileage reporting for our custom mileage based insurance to our insurance carrier with one click of a button. This had been taking days of work each month to reconcile and manually submit trip data and now it's all automated. We also now have the ability to run charges for gas, tolls, and parking for each trip with one click of a button from the same tab in our dispatch backend. These two upgrades alone will save our team about a week of someone's time every month.
The discussion will appear here.
