Problem

Scooter businesses aren’t successful—or are they?

Despite the mass popularity of electric scooter rental services, there are a lot of doubts about the overall success of the businesses that run them. It’s a common misconception that scooter businesses have negative unit economics and constantly need fleet upgrades to keep up with usage. The reality is electric scooters remain the easiest and most efficient way to create safe last-mile travel.

Solution

Lynx City is a civic-minded solution to electric scooters

Lynx City is a micro-mobility e-scooter rental company that's dedicated to promoting civic interests and easing everyday life for folks on the go. We work with college campuses and cities to promote community events, school happenings, city concerts, and more. We encourage our customers to explore their downtown areas and shop local businesses. A portion of each ride is donated to local wildlife rehabilitation experts in the cities Lynx operates in. Our company solution is to launch markets we know we can win, avoid irrational RFPs and competition, and operate positive ride economics from day 1.

Product

Download the app, find a scooter, and roll with Lynx

All that's needed to get started with Lynx City is to download our app, which is currently available on both iOS and Google Play platforms in both English and Spanish.

  1. Open the app to locate a nearby Lynx City scooter on the map

  2. Unlock your Lynx by scanning the QR code on the scooter

  3. Lynx Your City and have fun traveling to your destination

  4. Once you've arrived at your destination, park your Lynx scooter safely out of the way of foot traffic

In 2021, Lynx City plans to roll out its e-bike solution to target a larger market, offering a multi-model service.

Lynx City also partners with local communities and businesses so their scooters are more than just a way to get around – it’s a way for people to connect, shop, and explore their cities.

Traction

Lynx City has seen massive growth within 6 months of launching

Lynx City has seen massive growth since our launch 6 months ago. We’ve now grown to 2 major cities, 4 secondary cities, and reached 1 college campus. We’ve seen $500K in revenue and 70K+ rides. Our core team has been assembled; and we’ve fully developed our proprietary maintenance software, and rolled out our multilingual app and dispatch software.

Lynx City scooters appeal to anyone who wants the freedom and affordability of micro-mobility options. Our e-scooter market is primarily those ages 18-40 who are looking for an easy way to travel.

Business model

Lynx City is affordable and accessible to students and city dwellers. We charge a $1 flat fee to unlock a Lynx scooter and a small per-minute fee of $0.29-$0.35. Thus far, we've experienced strong per-unit economics with an average revenue of $8/ride.

Lynx City is launching its D2C model in Q1 of 2021. Customers will be able to rent an E-scooter for $99 a month, which will automatically renew until cancelled. This subscription model will be further complemented by same-day delivery right to their doorstep. Lynx City has also secured an agreement to pilot this subscription model with leading eCommerce marketplace, delivery.com, in Q2 of 2021.

Market

U.S. micro-mobility market is predicted to be worth between $200-300B by 2030

By now, virtually everyone living in a major city has seen micro-mobility solutions crop up. Consumer demand and interest are driving this market, which is predicted to be worth $200-300B by 2030. With our current traction and revenue model, we project revenue to grow to $15M by EoY 2023.

Competition

Lynx City targets small and middle markets where there's little to no competition

Lynx City has a competitive edge over current competitors in the market due to our market target and availability. Unlike Bird, Lime, and Spin, we have focused primarily on smaller cities that have been ignored in favor of larger markets. As such, we enjoy little to no competition in certain geographies, allowing us to build up our brand visibility across the US.

Vision and strategy

Growing to 3K+ scooters over the next 18 months

With your investment, you can help us grow to 3K+ scooters over the next 18 months. We plan to launch in over 7 new locations in 2021.
